CAN YOU SOLVE THIS FRENCH PUZZLE?

CHRISTMAS IS COMING??? >>>

THE “NUKE” INTERVIEW

There are lots of young groups in Gipuzkoa trying to get ahead in the music business and we

decided to talk to one of them:

  • What’s the name of the group?
  • NUKE

  • Who’s in the group and how old are they?
  • There’s five of us: Xuban (bass) Oihan (vocals) Aratz (drums) Vierbu (guitar) andJoseba (guitar).
  • We’re all between 20 and 25 years old.

  • Where’s the group from?
  • We’re all from different towns in Gipuzkoa: Azkoitia, Ordizia, Legorreta, Zumaia and Zestoa.

  • When was the group formed?
  • Around 2003. There was only four of us in the beginning - Xuban, Aratz, Oihan and his brother -but we thought it lacked something so we brought in a fifth person, another guitar player, Vierbu. Then one of the guitar players left the group and went to Australia so we were four piece again for a while. At the end of 2004 another guitar player joined and we were five piece again. And that’s the way we are today.
  • What sort of music do you play and what are the songs about?
  • We play New Metal and the songs are about controversial issues like euthanasia, deceit, hypocrisy etc.

  • How long does it take you to write a song?
  • It takes a while; it’s the guitar players who write them. But when we get together to rehearse everyone puts in ideas and the songs take shape as we go.

  • How often do you get together to rehearse?
  • Two or three times a week and, when we’ve got a gig coming up, at least three times a week.

  • Have you done any gigs? Do you get paid for them?
  • Yes, we have done some gigs. We’ve played with Ken7, Barricada, Eraso, Reincidentes, Surfing Kaos etc… The gigs have all been in Gipuzkoa up until now. When we’ve played at young people’s clubs we haven’t charged but when the gigs have been organized by the town council, we’ve been paid.

  • Have you got a CD out?
  • Not at the moment. We’ve done a demo tape and we’re recording a CD now and we hope to release it soon.

10) Would you like to earn your living as musicians or do you just play for fun?
  • Making a living from music is pretty difficult but we’d like to do it. At the moment we just play because we get a lot out of it.

11) Now that you’ve won the fifteenth Euskadi Gaztea Lehiaketa Demo Tape Competition, what does it mean to you?
  • It’s flattering that so many people voted for us and it looks like all the hard work we’ve put in has paid off. We can see that people like our music.

12) And, last of all, how do you see the future for the group?
  • We’re hoping we’ll get more gigs and that this’ll help us to start playing in better places.

We’d like to thank NUKE for giving up their time to help us out. Good luck NUKE!!

Is He Really Dead?

Good question. Most people agree that the man himself died but the Elvis industry is stronger

than ever. His death has done miracles for merchandising and wherever he is now he must be

smiling as he chews on another cheeseburger and checks out Elvis Presley Enterprises’ latest

campaign: Elvis Lives.

Have a look at these fascinating web sites to get the latest on the late Elvis’ flourishing career:

                            My Favourite Sport

My favorite sport is Counter-Strike. It’s a computer game, so it’s played on the Internet

(e-sport). I have been playing it for several hours day with some friends. I started playing CS when

I was 9 years old. Since then I can’t stop playing. In CS there are two teams: the terrorists and the

counter-terrorists. On the most maps the terrorists have to plant a bomb to destroy a target and the

cts have to prevent it or to defuse it. In a few maps the terrorists have hostages and it’s the target of

the cts to rescue them. Nowadays there are also “funmaps” which have the target to kill the other team.

The game is played in rounds. A round ends if the bomb explodes, got defused, all hostages got rescued

or one team got eliminated. It’s played all over the world, so the usual language on a gameserver is English.

Because it’s that popular there are also world champion ships. If you are a professional you can earn much

money just by playing. The worlds best player is a German, Michal Weikert, called Neo, “the One”. You

can watch the professionals when they play against each other on the Internet.

I lover this game and I am addicted to it.
