EVERY YEAR thousands of refugees from all over the
world come to Norway. Often they have had a hard and brutal time
during their adolescence. They want to start a new life, forget
about the past.
Refugees have a really bad reputation amongst some
people in Norway. They are often insecure, which can lead to a lot
of unnecessary violence. This is very sad; perhaps they only need
some help or somebody to talk to.
Not so long ago, we had an episode in Oslo. A desperate
man armed with a 30 centimetre long knife went berserk on the local
tram, in the rush hours, inner city. Sadly one man died, five got
badly injured. This left a shock amongst people here, how could
such disaster happen?
The treatment options for mental illness are too narrow,
a lot of crime in Norway is committed by mentally sick people. In
the end, they finally caught the poor refugee, a mentally sick 40
year old man from Somalia.
Norway has a good reputation many people claim that
it is the best country to live in. We are certainly one of the richest
and most peaceful. Far too many attempts to enter Norway every year,
sadly thousands are sent home with their dreams broken.

A mentally ill Somali refugee
killed one and injured several others on a tram.
