Every minute of every day somewhere on the planet the Natural World is displaying it's awesome power. We were all witness from afar the devastation of the Tsunami but some of us had some first hand experience

The High Tatras are the biggest mountains in Slovakia. There is beautiful scenery. There are nice lakes, mountain tarns and forests with little lanes which link some villages.

However, everything was destroyed. On 19th of November 2004 when a big storm with strong wind came. The wind had a speed of 170 km/ hour and it destroyed everything. The result of storm was shocking and horrible.Two people died and one is missing. One person, who died was a man. He was travelling by car from town with name Kežmarok to Tatranská Štrba with his wife. But when they stopped on the road a tree fell on their car. The man died but his wife stayed with him for 8 hours.

But thats not all. The High Tatras National Park are destroyed. A 2.5 km wide and 50 km long strip of forest was destroyed. The forested lanes are no longer there. Everybody was worried about this catastrophe. Everybody is helping in the High Tatras or sending money to help in the High Tatras.

The last storm like this was here in the year 1921. I hope that another frightening storm like this never comes again.
